Dr. Dwyer is a native Texan, born and raised in Seguin. He attended the University of Texas and the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Dr. Dwyer was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and went on to graduate at the top of his class. He completed his four year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and affiliated hospitals. Dr. Dwyer started his practice in 1981 with Northwest Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Dwyer is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the Christian Dental Society, the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Houston Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American and Texas Dental Associations, and the Houston District Dental Society. Dr. Dwyer and his wife, Judy, have one daughter, Darby. They reside in The Woodlands and are members of Lakeside Bible Church.
